Been getting the error consistently, on the first time of clearing it went into limp mode.

Since running fine with the code present and light on, I haven’t cleared it until I get to the bottom of the issue.

My 90 is fitted with a snorkel, and the intake is front facing. Does anyone else have an experience of this code, and what did you do to rectify. My thinking is that the additional airflow caused by the RAM air coming down the snorkel is causing the MAF sensor to read a higher airflow that if the intake was inside the bonnet, thus giving the error.

Thanks,

Ed

It looks like an air intake problem. Probably is your snorkel as you suspect. But check the air filter is in good clean condition, check all hoses between the air filter, turbo, intercooler and engine are in good condition (no splits). Take the front grill off and check the intercooler for splits where the plastic end boxes attach to the core. Look closely on both sides of the intercooler. Check the MAF sensor just upstream of the air filter is clean but do not clean it with solvents or brake cleaner as that will kill it. Also the wires on the MAF plug need checking for chafing.

Thanks Wim!

She’s going in to a service Monday, so will ask the garage to have a look if it’s not too much trouble for them ie. don’t charge me through the teeth.

I get deployed to the Middle East Monday afternoon, then taking her to France 2 days after I get back to the UK. Trying to make sure she’s in good working order!

Regards

Ed
