And so it begins.. First job, even though Boris had an MoT last week, one 40 mile journey and the near side parking light appears not to work. Removed the cover, bulb looks good although will not unscrew to double check. Assuming the bulb is working, suggestions anyone? How do I remove a stuck bulb?

The bulb is probably corroded in.
Break the glass and get some long nose pliers on the metal remains. Clean up and replace the bulb or fit a whole new fitting if it's too far gone, cheap enough tbh.

Looks like a whole new fitting is necessary. With so many aftermarket suppliers, who do you recommend?

Dunno, I haven't got a series:oops:.
I changed all my lamps for Nas ones by wipac on my 110 and they've been little trouble to be fair.

I would agree Wipac , I bought some cheapies of eBay and the lenses would not come off easily
The brake / tail lamp fitting had the bayonet in wrong position so had to swap wires around to make it work properly

I'm tending to go cheap now unless I can be sure the more expensive one one is better, as riggwelter says, its a gamble. I've sometimes paid a bit more and clearly still got the same part. Last week I ordered two window catches from the same supplier (keen price) and one Bearmach and one BP one turned up.
