I have to ask. Why on earth would you have the HG changed on a TD4? THEY DO NOT FAIL, EVER!!!

The garage haven't done the HG job properly. Simple.

You were very very very unlucky to have a HG fail on a TD4 - or the garage was telling you porkeys.

They have various common problems, but for the HG to fail would be very rare. I bet the box it came in was very dusty.

Great to have someone on board from Iceland. If its hissing, presumably its one of the vacum/induction hoses - maybe an exhaust/manifold gasket if the head's been off.

If the noise started after the garage did the head gasket - then it should be their responsibility to at least identify the problem to prove it was not their doing (which it very likely is).
