Hello all,

I want to change my battered rear number plate on my RR Classic. Thing is I believe it’s held on by glue / tape and is stuck fast. Any top tips greatly received .
Thanks

Rich

:) Monkeys it is.....many thanks

Take it to Knowsley and the monkeys'll have the whole car! Ran a fleet of 40 vans in the north & east midlands - great big ones with Green branded wrapping all over - you could not miss them - only place we ever had one stolen - while the the guys were on the roof - was Knowsley, twice!

Length of strong fishing line - braid is best. A length of electrical wire/length of flex (plastic sheathed) will also work. (I've used all three, depending what was to hand at the time).
Tie each end to a short piece of wood or similar to use as handgrips.
Put behind plate & work across using a sawing motion.
Bit of heat can help.
Residual adhesive from the sticky pads can be cleaned off with WD40, 'Tar & glue remover' or clutch & brake cleaning fluid.

Or .6mm mig wire if you have it, other than that just rip it off its going to break anyway plus you are replacing it.

Great tips and advice, going to use the wire method let you now how it goes - after I’ve finished welding my front sill etc etc etc
