Hi newbie here. been reading through the forum for the last 2 days.
The missus has decided she wanted a bigger car. She bought a td4 04 reg bargain she said.
Had a look at it and yes it has all the usual problems great. 1st was the rear door was held shut with wire tied to the tailgate going through the rear passenger door to hold it shut. interior lights not working. Oil leak looks like from dip stick or pipe just above it with a sensor in it. Front breaks discs are rotted. Rear passenger door dosent lock unlock and rear window on same door does nowt.
So iv got a real list to be getting on with great!
My 1st job I done was the rear tailgate, took out the lock and actuator managed to free the lock as was jammed shut and handle wasn't opening it. the lock works fine door shuts fine after taking it all apart and fixing the micro switch.
Now after boring you with all that I will get to the 1st problem I need help with. The glass in the tail gate the last owner changed as there was glass every were in the boot and inside the tail gate. Well this wonky and wouldn't go up and stay up. I undone the 2 10mm holds that hold the glass in the 2 rails tried the window and goes all the way up. So I tighten the to bolts to were the marks are on the glass when its up and try it again.
Doesn't go all the way up so I losen the bolts and it goes all the way up FFS
3 hours today messing about adjusting the glass trying to get it to go up
Not a chance
So iv left the bolts lose. I know.the.bolts hold the glass in so is it safe to leave the bolts lose?
Or is there a way of me doing them up and getting the glass to fit right

Sorry for the long read was just giving you some back ground to my new head ache

Here take a look at this

Theres bolts that hold the runners to the door. They adjust the angle of the glass. from memory they're threaded both sides

Thanks for the replys was thing of just leaving the 2 bold lose but there will be a risk of the glass falling out or off the clips.
Watched quite a few of bodgit and leggitt bids before never thought to look on his channel for a free lander. I will have another play with the adjustment see how I get on

At the bottom of the channels are two torx screws which, when the nuts are loosened, can be adjusted for the angle of the glass.

Sorted it I undone the 2 13mm nuts and wound the 2 bottom channel studs all the way I'm using the torque holes now works perfectly thanks ! Oh and iv got the 2 10mm tight to hold the window in.
