Careful, that is what they call anorexia when the addiction get too much.:( My neighbour has been admitted to hospital after suffering a bout of 'not eatin'g …. and now, two weeks later, her vital organs are closing down. :(:(:(
Awww.... that is sad to hear. It is sadly quite common for elderly ladies on their own to frequently suffer from a UTI and this sends them a little bit loopy where diet and hydration is concerned. Happened to my next-door neighbour (85+).
She would (when so affected) call at our front door asking "had we seen her boys, because they were not home from school yet". This would promp my wife to take her home and make her a cup of tea and a sandwich and I would call her son to get some care-assistance sorted.
Thankfully I am eating LOADS of food, so no chance of me starving. :D
So much so, that this week instead of losing >3 pounds of flab I only lost just under 2 pounds.

Awareness it the important thing!
My neighbour is considerably younger than I am but she is a bit of a recluse. She and her husband, came to live here in the heart of the country, from a town environment ( new 'exclusive' housing estate') saying that they wanted to be amongst friendly people who they could talk to. So they chose a hamlet with very, very few people and an even smaller number of scattered houses! The first thing they ( I think it was him really ) did was to remove any hedges around his very large garden and put up solid wooden, 6 feet high fences!!!! After a few months, he did mention to another inhabitant who he met along the lane, that they had not really seen or met anyone yet!!! He is the kind of man who does not listen to anyone so it was pointless anyone trying to explain his error. He obviously knows how to do fencing and paving but gardening and country living is beyond him! As I understand it, they used to visit this area staying in their caravan and loved the country views so much this is where they wanted to buy for their retirement. He continued to live away as he worked a 3/4 day week leaving her on her own - hence she has spiralled down into a reclusive existence. I only ever saw her in the supermarket occasionally and, I understand, would not open the door if anyone knocked. There was never a light visible as I think they lived in the kitchen at the rear of the bungalow. Sad, and no wonder she has ended up as she is now.:):):) I think he still doesn't see what went wrong - it suited him and his interests so it must be good for her!!

Kings Lynn has a decent hospital and amenities like big towns throughout the country. It also has a lot of interesting history and places to visit. Property is ridiculously cheap. There are many country properties nearby and places you can buy fantastic farm produce. Road links and public transport are relatively very good.
Cromer has a cottage hospital with increasing facilities. A lot of people retire there. The town is a bit seasonal but does have some good facilities and is absolutely packed bank holidays etc. A bit inland from there is lovely. Prices are higher but still cheap compared to rest of country.
I wouldn't recommend Norwich.
@TheQ what do you think?
I don't know the kings Lynn side of the county...

The other A+E hospital is the James Paget in Gorleston Near enough on the NORFOLK Suffolk border.
Great Yarmouth is the cheapest but think of a cheap version of Blackpool.
From just north of there at Caister up to Sheringham, it's reasonably priced, and very nice. Just choose a house not liable to go over the cliff or get flooded. Then it starts getting expensive towards Chelsea on sea aka Wells.

Cromer hospital is a bit more than a cottage hospital and is very good. Thanks to this lady.. https://www.edp24.co.uk/news/widow-sagle-bernstein-s-cromer-hospital-cash-gift-grew-by-5m-1-1360544 she's not the only one to have left over a million to Cromer hospital..

I love the broads, but the broads themselves are expensive, but it doesn't take much distance away for the price to reduce. They are building a fair amount of houses at Stalham, which has two doctors surgeries, a Tescos and is a couple of miles from an ambulance station.

I would start looking between Cromer and Stalham

Thank you both for this, it's great to get local intel. I had been looking at Dereham and the surrounding area. Cromer is too near the sea for my liking but Stalham looks promising!!

Sadly Stalham is one of those places where a lot of amenities have gone.
I go to Dereham quite a bit as it's close to me and it's a nice little town. Road links are good there too. Crime in the town might be a bit of a concern in some areas.

Eye be ere gerrin me Freelanderin fix. Its gonner rain ard tover nite. Net wevva ses terentul. Dunt fergettid ter putta tarp over yer tratters un a ratchet strap round it ter keep the doors ont.

Cheers for that. We will need to put in a lot of research! Where we live has its problems but I suppose it is the same everywhere sadly.
We are heading up for a weekend at the end of the month to start the search in earnest. I would like to be moved by October :)

Fly over the houses on google earth to see what they like and the area. Or use a magic carpet if yer've got one.
