Knocking noise from passenger side rear

Hi just wondering if anyone has had this knocking sound, to me it sounds like a drive shaft but had up on a ramp & sounds like it is coming out off the differential any ideas cheers martin

In my experience, it is the propshaft centre bearings; only one in my case.

You need to check the chassis for cracks as well especially pre 2002 ones.
Also, the rear diff mounts can cause this or the diff itself.

Not sure if either of these suggestions apply to F2, they are common/commonish F1 faults.

Hi guys ended up having the rear differential & passenger side drive shaft changed & then the front differential as well £2000 later was not expecting that right kick in the teeth.

The repair bills are more, although should be less frequent.

I think I will still look around as I like the bit of extra space and if I do I will give mine to the wife she has had her's for 20 years and it is 22 years old it is a 1800 she had the head gasket done about 5 years ago and today she had a set of new tyres on as the front ones and gone age related ie: cracks between the tread he back one were new around 4 years ago and now she has retired she has done about 300 miles a year the speedo says about 80,000 and it is still in good nick
