Part 1 of some excellent mechanical carnage being rebuilt by myself!

thats had a serious shock loading,you should mark the bearing caps prior to removing,and dont both undoing the adjuster just undo the bolts,use timken pinion bearings other makes can make getting shimming ie preload right,difficult

Excellent example of why Land Rovers crown wheels need pegging.

cw/p rtc2990 shouldnt be difficult to source,its better to use timken pinion bearings 539706 and 539707 as other makes can be harder to shim to get preload,carrier bearings 41045 can be any decent make
when you fit crown wheel to carrier fit the bearings and loosely fit the assembly into the housing to check crown wheel run out,once done you can then set that aside and sort the pinion height and preload
