Morning all, has anyone had to overhaul the fuel pump on a petrol 2 1/4, I think mine is on it's way out, tried pumping it using the lever and it doesn't seem to be doing anything.

I know what you mean, sometimes you need to turn the engine half a turn as the lever might be on the camshaft lobe so moving the hand prime lever does not work when it’s in the right position you can feel the resistance
They are very simple and if having problems can get a service kit, but if buying new get a decent one Delphi or similar
Why do you think it’s on its way out

I thought it might be on it's way out as I had trouble starting it, seems to be a lack of fuel, the engine is turning over and it's getting a spark, I sprayed a bit of easy start in the carb and I caught instantly, I've already changed the inline fuel filter as it looked like it had been on there since the engine was rebuilt in 04, been looking at videos on websites and most say the diaphragm perishes eventually. Do you think it could be anything else, the carb is a Weber

The workshop manual on there too if you don’t have a copy
