Wheel adapters

Hi.. I've purchased a set of 19inch wheels off ebay for my 2011 freelander 2... When I tried fitting them, they were too big... Apparently the freelander 2 they came off had hub adaptors fitted, which these clowns neglected to inform me of.. I know my wheels on the freelander 2 are 5x108, but can't see on the 19s any marks to identify the size... Any ideas thanks...

You need to be measuring pcd, but probably best to trade for wheels that fit

just measure the diameter of the hole in the new wheels, go to a tire fitters they should have a selection of adapters, (well mine do).

If you're fitting wheels with the incorrect PCD, you'll need to inform the insurance company, as they may well refuse cover and rightly so.

I'd be selling them on and fit the correct PCD and spigot size wheels.

You can get PCD adapters, like spacers with one set of holes at one pattern and the other set of studs at another pattern, such as 5x114.3 --> 5x120. Spiggot size, as long as the wheels have larger holes at the centre than the spiggot on the car, you can get spiggot rings made to order for a couple of quid on eBay. But the PCD adapting spacers are expensive, and are essentially bespoke to your car. Probably better getting a different set of wheels. Since your seller said there were adapters can you get the seller to send you the wheel adapters? If not send the wheels back for refund?, get them to pay postage both ways as the wheels were not as advertised.

Send 'em back and get ones that fit. Too many potential problems as described above. You have no guarantee of quality even if you buy the expensive adapters and these things can be a serious weak link. Hence the insurance companies outlook. They're also acting as spacers which causes extra load on yer wheel bearings.
