One piece door seals

Good afternoon, Can anyone recommend a one piece door seal that will fit a 1980 series 3 swb I was recommended to use the Britpart defender doors seal but when I got them and cut out for door catch and windscreen bracket /bolt the door will not shut it seems worse on the hinge side of the door. May be seals to thick or to stiff for series doors (I also cut off folded edges of door frames. Used a Britpart door seal for rear door and that is fine) any comments welcome Steve
