Hi, I have a freelander 2 2.2 diesel 2009.
All was fine until it cam up "reduced engine power"
It cuts out at 3000rpm and wont restart until you remove key and re insert,
If you put the revs on gently it will go past 3000rpm,
I have had:
New fuel filter
New throttle body
New fuel rail sensors
And injectors tested,
My mechanic said next step is fuel pump,
Has anyone else experienced this.
Any info would be much appreciated.
Thanks

From thread in General Land Rover Forum, has more info on the problem...
Hi,
I have a freelander 2 2009 2.2 td4,
Yesterday as I went round a corner I lost power,
Message on dash was reduced engine performance,
I turned it of and back on and all was fine,
Couple of miles down the road going up a slight hill it just died, managed to star back up but struggled,
Seems to be when on a slight hill under load,
Had AA come out and read the codes and I think it was p0088, fuel pressure?
But I am now still no closer to getting it repaired as being the Christmas period etc.
He suggested fuel filter or sensor but I did have a full service 2months ago where the fuel filter should have been changed,
If you drive it very gently it doesn't go into limp mode,
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you

Last month you had a problem with a whistling sound and occasional smell of fumes after a cambelt change, did you get this resolved?

I have no idea if they are related, but things often are.

Hi,
Sorry I'm new to this,
No I didnt resolve thit issue either,
It is now booked in at the main dealer to run their diagnostic,
Just wondering if anyone has come across this issue?
Thanks
