Disco 2 Discovery td5 fuel problem

Hi really need help I have a 04 discovery td5 and its started to play up it's taken ages to start and when it dose I can drive a few miles and then cut out now here is the strange part if I empty a bit of fuel from the fuel fillter it will start back up if I dont empty fuel out of it when it wont start really hope some one can help thanks

Will it start after doing a purge cycle? (Ign on/pump accelerator 5/6 times) If so then air in system. Usual causes for this - Faulty injector seals/perished fuel filter housing.

Hi mark thanks for reply done the perge twice now and still the same once it cuts out if I dont drop fuel from fillter it wont start but as soon as I drop a few teaspoons of fuel out it starts straight away strange one to me this

Try what @Landmark2 suggested but it's very likely that you have an issue with the non return valve located in the fuel filter housing.
