Low battery is the most likely reason. what car is it?
Trans fault is a common sign of low battery.
A common cause is the RF receiver for the FOB responding to signals from wireless door bells and the like.
Just tried to start it again and it said traction falure
You need to put a meter on the battery and see what you have got.
Just tested battery it was 12.13v
What size battery did you put on. Needs to be a big one power wise
That is flat. The battery needs to be 1000CCA such as the MF31-1000 from Battery Megastore.
Doesn't it also depend on what type of battery for diesel and petrol alternators charge differently I believe
Alternators are identical although different models have different current ratings, the battery I quoted is suitable for petrol or diesel P38's.
What cold Cranking amps?
Either you are doing a lot of short journeys, or there's is a bad connection between the alternator and the battery or the alternator is fecked. If the alternator is original, it will be charging at 13.8 volts which is note enough to charge a modern Lead/Calcium automotive starter battery.
