Hi all - car recently written off so I have just bought another FL2, this time a FL2, 2010 HSE td4.e. Three issues I've discovered in the past 36 hours:
  • stop/start doesn't work, regardless if engaged or not on the dashboard;
  • cruise control cuts at about 70mph - so when I get up to motorway speeds I tend to use the cruise control but once I hit the magic 70 it kind of 'clunks' and disengages;
  • top end of each gear, especially 4-6, seems to be lacking in 'bite' - I fear this might be an indication of an imminent clutch rebuild.
If anyone has any insight into any of these issues I'd be grateful to hear from you.
Thanks!

Stop start is very dependent on battery condition. If the battery is on the way out, stop start is disabled. If a new battery has been fitted, I believe the battery monitor system needs resetting.

The other issues, I don't know about.

Was your car ever a company vehicle fitted with a speed limiter? You see a lot of vans and pick-up with stickers on the back saying “Speed limited to 60, or 70, mph”

There is no speed limiter that I know of. I am perfectly capable of exceeding 70mph. The issue seems to be strictly pertaining to the cruise function. Thanks, though!

Thanks - I've heard this, too. The battery does seem a tad sluggish so I'm getting it tested.

The start stop will disable of the battery is in a state of discharge so you don't get stranded. I think it also disables when the outside temperature drops too low
