P38A wet footwells

I would lay odds that it is the plenum fasteners, that is exactly what mine was like. With all of the rain we have had mine have remained dry as a bone since doing the fix and that was quite a long time ago!
 
If it is the same issue I had I must say it is very satisfying when it’s fixed! Replace the pollen filters when ya do it though and seal the covers with a light coat of silly cone. I would also do the other bit suggested by wammers, at least then you know fer sher!
 
If like to be able to dry out the carpet, the sound proofing underneath is sodden!! That seems to be a seat out job though and I'm not inclined to do that :(

did wonder whether that would work.. theres a hire place nearby.. will see what they cost
i did think about putting a small electric blow heater in for a while with one of the back windows open a crack

You can buy a humidifier for not a lot, might be cheaper than hire. I pulled litres of water out of my project P38.
A blow heater might not do the job in this cold damp weather.
 
Don't try the heat fan idea, I tried that for about 10 minutes and ended up with fog in the car and everything soaked. I ended up using a very sucky wet/dry and then a day or two with said dehumidifier.
Funny thing about this thread, just went out shopping today, puddle on passenger floor, however, it was just the usual blocked A/C drain, I am going to cut the valve bit off, causes more trouble than it prevents......

The valve bit should not cause any problems unless debris is getting past the pollen filters.
 
I usually do the drains a couple of times a year, always seem to have a green/black goop same as the drains for the sunroof. I do the pollen filters at least once a year, they are usually fairly clean as I don’t do that many miles nowadays. The drains are like everything in Blighty, damp, mouldy and algae breeding!

There is some stuff for cleaning and disinfecting the aircon. Can't remember what it's called.
 
Not sure if that would solve the algae issue, might try it to freshen the old girl up, always smells musty in the winter.
What I have done in the past is use a bleach solution in them squirting into them with a big syringe. It cleaned them but didn’t resolve the problem.
 
Just caught up with this thread, ...... now that winter is here my carpets are noticeably damp again, I don't think I have come across leaky pollen filters before, thanks lads,... I'll be having a look see when it dries up a bit over the next couple of days. :)
 
Because it's been too wet, through desperation i put extra seal round the pollen filter covers and didn't get wet feet.. maybe I've made progress!!
In typical land rover fashion though, the upper for seal decided to unstick itself and hang down!! That's another excuse for a leak!
What's good for gluing that back with?
