Hi,

I am a new member but have been reading the threads about the EGR with interest, I removed the EGR from my Freelander SE TD4 over the weekend and found it well and truly clogged with oil/tar only 34000 on the
clock.
I want to fit a bypass pipe and would like to know if anyone has a engineers drawing so I can get one made! or where can a buy one? I am a bit short of cash at the moment as I had to replace the o/s/r window regulator that cost over £70 so was looking to save a few pounds on the EGR bypass.

If the EGR is clogged up what are the chances that the inlet manifold is also clogged, should this be cleaned as well, what is the best way to clean it?

Is roverrons tuning box a good idea?

slow down steady earthling one fing at a time. . . .rover rons product are well good reccomended on this forum [he also doe's egr bypass] but to be honest just cleaning the ****e out and blankin it is good enough. . . . .newbies fink we know everyfink eh porky. . . .wot you wanna say summit to im . . . .oh go on then . . .PARP!!!!. . .HE HE HE Yer stupid mutt :) :) :)

How easy is it to remove the inlet manifold? is a web site thats shows how its done?:confused:
 
Fairly easy, Remove turbo intake plastic trunking at front and then remove about 8 or 10 bolts for air intake

It will take you longer to clean that remove

Ive bin on look out for a spare that i can clean and then refit and then sell spare on

Mine was pretty gunked up inside but i left it for something to do this summer
 
If a leave the EGR in place after cleaning, removing and sealing the vacuum pipe would the air flow to the inlet manifold be ok, I heard that the EGR unit can cut the air flow down by 45%.
How do you block the exhaust inlet to the EGR?
