Hi guys, new to forum and I suppose like all newbies I have a problem. Freelander 2 (2011) XS. doors open ok on remote fob and tailgate will also open ok using tailgate button on fob but I cannot get both doors and tailgate to open on global. Thanks in advance

Hi single or multi point entry can be enabled by your key fob
It operates in two ways unlocking drivers door and tailgate or unlocking all doors and the tailgate
You can switch between mode by unlocking then pressing the unlock and lock buttons together and holding for three seconds
The vehicle will lock and unlock in the now selected mode and the hazard warning lights will flash twice to confirm
Repeating the procedure will revert back to the original setting
Hope this helps

Thanks for the replies guys,
To make myself a bit clearer by global I think I should have said multi point entry. Re the pressing of the two buttons together I have done that and yes it will go from drivers door only or all doors but still won't unlock the tailgate. I have tried (I think) all combinations etc but it always requires the tailgate button to be pressed to open it. On closing the indicators do flash.
Hope that makes my problem a bit clearer.

Thanks for that, but could you please help me a bit more by explaining where exactly the switch is, and is it "user freindly".

I’ve had my FL2 for a decade and never felt the need to open one, or all, doors synchronously with the tailgate. Now I know it’s possible I’ll give it a try. Sod’s law means I’ll probably find it an indispensable feature!

The switch is the bit you press in the centre of the handle above the rear number plate to open the tailgate.
These can get water in and fail.
