Have a look! If it's flopping about and generally loose, it's probably not bolted on!!

Do you have to undo it to put the small belt on.

There is a tensioner on the belt for the Aircon compressor that has an M6 bolt holding it in position and another M6 bolt as a pivot. You have to loosen that to release and tension the belt. You do not need to move the compressor itself (which is held on with three long bolts extending upwardly into the engine block).
