Hi,

In preperation of an cheeky little remap later this week, I installed an uprated Terra Firma intercooler and silicon hoses a couple of weekends ago. Intercooler is made by Serck. Looks like a nice bit of kit, and about twice the size of a standard one. Ordered it from First Four Offroad and it arrived next day - result.

Installation was pretty easy - made harder by the fact my Landy has A/C, but didn't need to de-gas and remove the A/C pipework as suggested.
The Silicon hoses on the other hand... would have been fairly easy if I have the hands of a 3 yr old, because I don't it was a tight squeeze - and involved much swearing. Still got there in the end (minus the skin off knuckles and forearms...)

So, my thoughts on the uprated intercooler (whilst waiting for the remap). Normal driving not much difference, although I do notice that once I'm "on turbo" revs pick up a bit faster.

On the North Devon hills - much improved on full throttle. We have a couple of sections of long up hill climbs (near Devon 4x4 if anyone's interested...) that would normally require a change down to 5th and a drop off of 10mph. It's now 6th all the way and still accelerating if you want too. Only to the speed limit obviously, I certainly wasn't screaming up the fast lane doing 80 shouting "OUT THE WAY MOTHERF&*!ERS !!! LANDY COMIN' THROUGH !!!"

Ahem, anyway...

Also noticed its happier at motorway speeds than before whilst on a run up the M5 and back Monday.

No noticeable loss or gain in fuel consumption.

Very useful and funny post. Just the type of information I was looking for when deciding what upgrade I might do to my own Puma 90.

I live near Devon 4x4! I think I know what hills you mean lol

Re-map complete :D

I wanted to retain engine life and not go too crazy, so after a chat with the technician went for a stage 1 tune up. Works out at 31% increase in BHP and 35% increase in torque.

Initial thoughts ? Different animal. The power curve feels much wider with significant gain from 1800 - 3000 rpm, feels smoother too and you can definitely feel the extra torque going up a proper hill.

Is my truck going to win any traffic light grand prixs - probably not, but watch our on the incline boys ... Hill ? What hill .

Interesting to see what the difference (if any) I get in fuel consumption, Need to drive it for a couple of weeks and take an overall view then.

So far so good.

my 110 is stage 2 i now only use the heavey foot in 4th and 5th the transfer box could not take it.
the 5 speed box is now whining.:(
