Hopefully someone will be able to help. Probably being a numpty, but trying to program a new key for my discover TD5. Have a Nanocom and a new dealer key. Have looked on instructions for Nanocom but can not find anything as to were or how to program key. Can it be done in stand alone or does Nanocom need to be hooked up to laptop? Appreciate any help on this. Thanks

What model of Nanocom is it?

I have a nanocom original and it can program disco keys in stand alone mode. If you have the sticker on the key it makes life easier but if not you need to take the numbers off the chip inside the key to do it.

Hi Ratty, thanks for taking the time to reply. I have a original nanocom or as it is now called a nanocom one. Seems i have to update the firmware of it to be able to get the key code set up. Now struggling to get the nanocom usb driver on lap top to work! Bloody electonics being a pain as usual for me!

The original nanocom should be able to do key slots 1 & 2, but had a bug that meant 3, 4 & the suspension don't work correctly. I have done the first 2 slots fine. What version of firmware are you running on it?

Hi Ben. thanks for the reply. I think it is 2.05 as that seems to flas up very briefly when turning on. can i program the key with just the nanocom unit or does it need to be hooked up to a laptop at the same time? If it can where do i find the function please? thanks.

Hi!

Would appreciate any help on programming a spare key for my Disco 2 TD5 Year 2000.

I recently purchased a key off eBay and it came with a tag with 2 sets of barcodes with numbers (15 digits).

I understand that to program a key with the Nanocom, I will need a 6 digit code.

From what I gather thru the forums, the 6 digit code can be found on a sticker at the back of the circuit board. I've opened and checked and it's not there.

Also, as stated by some of the forum members, the 6 digit code is actually the 2nd, 3rd, 4th and so forth digits from the 15 digit code. Fro example, if the 15 digit code was 1234567890ADEFG, then the 6 digit code would be 234567.

Tried using the 6 digit code derived from the 15 digit supplied with the key but no joy. I followed the steps in the "How to program key using Nanocom" video to the letter. Nanocom support staff was of no help!

Any suggestions? Thanks!
