Something to be aware of when using an impact gun, you need decent sockets on the end of it, crap sockets, extension bars or wobbly bits will absorb the impacts rendering the gun underpowered. You would be surprised how much power gets lost through an extension bar.

Plus do not use rubbish or non impact kit, as was posted on here a year os so ago, eyes cannot be replaced.
I have a Kielder unit, and have to say I am happy with it, yes my mates Milwaukee kit will outperform it on the tough stuff at 3 times the price.

Im sure it will do the job, but we have ryobi at work, about 4/5 different tools and there is always one being repaired or replaced!

I had completely forgotten about buying one of these. Bit of a monster. It can destroy non impact sockets in seconds, way too much torque for general use as it's all or nothing

I got it primarily to undo my crankshaft bolt. Im never going to use it to tighten a bolt!

Bit like my 3/4 drive air then.
I bought one a couple of years ago and its great - at the moment i only really use it for undoing wheel nuts - i live in Sweden and we have summer and winter tyres, so is something that really saves time vs doing it with a normal wrench. I originally bought it mainly for changing our cars tyres, but tried it on my landy and works fine with those too.
I think the same goes for anything being discussed here - it all depends how often you are going to be using it. If you're just keeping it for wheel nuts, its probably fine, but if you're going to be using it for everything, and using it each weekend then you might want to look at a heavier duty one.

I dont have a compressor and no means of getting one which I could get close to the defender (workshops at the rear of my terrace house and car is at the front. I would need a 50 meter air line and that would be over the pavement... I can see the claims coming in already ! After a lot more research, it looks like the entry level battery units are around £50 less than the makita unit suggested after chargers, battery etc. So, looks like im saving some more pennies up - might see what offers are rolled out on Black Friday etc.
