My 1983 Series 3

Before we start:

- I am not a purist,
- This is not a 'real' Series 3,
- Yes it is on springs,
- No it will not be back to standard.

Now all that is over.

I swapped this for my 00 TD5 Disco, was dropped off, and been at it for 2yrs now.

After the roof swap, I decided to strip 36yrs of house paint and other horrible stuff of it, back to bare metal and start again.

Then full floor plates and custom tunnel.

Every thing i'm doing has 3 or 4 layers of next phase on top, so the floor plates. Too the tunnel.

Hopefully going to look something like a challenge truck when finished.

Done a full rewire on it.
Since the loom was just a nightmare to even do anything with.

Come to today.

Finally had enough of the drab horrible, some idiot paint GLOSS black interior.
So stripped and painted in priner resdy for 2nd coat.

Still in half a mind of doing it jet black like the outside.

It's whatever you are happy with, I have so much Chinese crap bolted on to and wired in to my 90 that it's a Rand Lover now

Nothing Chink at all.
All of it is proper LR. Just a few bits are RRC with a 19j engine, soon to be 200tdi.

The beauty comes when I find the pics of the pannels,
Hand made, even the curves were hand hammered and look ace. Match a dream.

You've done a lot of good work there but what I really like is the dog.

same! What a beast!

fairlplay on the work and especially re wire. I’m dumb with wiring but can imagine it’s not for faint hearted. I’d love an s3 pickup. Like the perfect little hunting truck.
