A few ideas.
Few of us live in a gated community, but if you live in a cul de sac the toerags have to both get in and get out, if small enough it can seriously hamper their manoeuvrings. Helps if you have nosey neighbours.
For long term off-the-road vehicles that you cannot put in a building, take both the spare wheel and another wheel off, leave it on axlestand. Preferably the wheel furthest from the road, much harder to tow away, again as others have suggested, putting the steered wheels on full lock and locked with steering wheel lock
If your car is Sorned, check out SORN insurance, it is cheap and will cover you for as long as you want, I think, certainly 6 months.
As for the guy who had his truck nicked from his mate's drive, and got no payment. I have never heard of an insurance that does not allow you to spend a night away from home with your vehicle. If they tried it, I would suggest the insurance ombudsman. I cannot believe this was hidden in any small print

Some little ****(s) have tried to have my 90 off the drive. Disklok was a little bit mangled but thankfully didn't give in. Now added gear lock (x-defend) plus Yale shed alarm (but for some reason that gives false alarms when the sun shines through!).

Not good! Glad the security saved it!! Which area of the country , I'm trying to map all of the thefts and attempted thefts.

Kent is at the top of the list, according to data provided by insurance companies under the freedom of information act.
Kent is officially the county where you are most likely to have your car stolen in the UK.
During 2018, there were 3,444 vehicle thefts reported to Kent Police - a 7 per cent increase on the previous year.

Hi All,

I've been out of the Defender world for a little while (Went over to the Disco 3 dark side)
looking to get back into the defender gang.

I wondered what the current Top 5 "must have" security devices are nowadays ?
that have proved to be the most effective

Cheers Beardy

Tracker and alarm that senses for broken window and motion inside. Park in garage out of sight or where it can be seen if being nicked if not in garage. Block it in on drive.

Searched high and low online but can't seem to find any actual reviews of the optimill swivel lock for removable wheels? has anyone actually taken a grinder to one of these things and seen how difficult they are to get off?

Reluctant to splash out all the money on one if it is only going to be as effective as a disklock tbh but would quite like a nice excuse to get a momo wheel ;)
