GG, you're right - it is designed for MG Rover vehicles (and why it is perfect for me - I have accumilated a few of them!) I lent Philip my 2001 FL1 to get the Teves Mk20 sorted - but you're right, I don't think he's yet got the early Wabco system working as he's never had access to a pre-2000 FL1. I've just messaged him to ask about this.

Andy, Nodge, next time I'm down in the south west, I'll bring my pscan along with me if that would be of help? [Edit - just read your post Nodge - no problem, will definitely bring it down with me!]

That would be very handy, especially if it reads my box TCM.

I'm having a rethink on selling my SE anyway, as I can't find someone brave enough to take it on. So it looks like I'll be selling the 1.8 XEi instead.

The pscan is developed for Rover cars. Your mate who develops it sounds like a great fella and wants to help out Freelander owners, but he admits (or at least used to) that he hasn't tested/developed on Freelanders greatly. For example, it may work well on a Freelander's L Series lump - but there's not as much use in that as it being able to talk to the Freelander Wabco ABS unit which is much more likely to need talking to.

I'd check if it does work with the ABs before buying one.
Just checked with Philip - it does now do the Wabco - http://pscan.uk/features/wabcod.html

Nodge, is the FL1 autobox the same as the 75's Jatco? If so, it is covered - http://pscan.uk/features/jatco.html

And no, I am not getting commission! I've just pestered Philip to getting his system to fully cover MGF as I don't fancy finding an old T4 running Windows XP. And I am still pestering him to get compatibility between MEMS1.9 and MEMS2J to Harry's Lap Timer, but that is an altogether different story ;)

All of the Freelander 1 ABS modules are supported now to some extent. A lot of work has gone into Freelander 1 since then. If you visit the website it tells you exactly what is supported. I am planning to release support for the body control module soon as well.

Looking at Philip's website, he's tested it on an FL1 Jatco with the KV6 engine - so fingers crossed, it should work fine.

I need to pick up a tail gate door from Andy to make repair panels for my rotten door sometime, and you're not so much further down the road, so perhaps I'll have to make a trip down before the spring half term!!!

That's perfect Rob.
pscan works on FL1 Jatco with both TD4 and KV6 engines.

That's good to know.

I'd love to get to the bottom of my gearbox issues.

Out of interest, does it access the Ipack, say for adding the Canadian spec on dash exterior temperature sensor?

When I see how effective the Pscan is on my SE, then I'll be offing the I930, and getting that instead, especially as my I930 doesn't even read an OBD2 compliant vehicle since the update.

I can't be talking about prices and discounts and sales on here. It is against the rules of advertising which are very clear. If someone asks a specific question about pscan or says something that isn't quite correct then I will point out the truth but that's as far as I can go.

O.K so written to Icarsoft with the email chain from 2014 showing how all the different bits of functionality that don't work have been repeatedly promised in updates over the last 5 years !!

ABS, Autobox, Injector balance etc.......
I emailed the USA Headquarter, Barnett Davies on [email protected]
I have summarised the appalling chain of events in boring detail.
I have asked for a refund as the product will not deliver as advertised.
I await response. Others could do the same?!?!

Good luck with a refund. I have emailed them myself, asking for a refund too. I'm not holding out much hope for a refund though. Interestingly the I930 does connect to the wife's BMW e46 convertible engine ECU, so it does work as an OBD2 reader, even if it's not fully functional on the FL1. I'm not expecting a refund, and mine reads the ABS ECU ok, so won't mind keeping it.

I've decided to keep the TD4 SE auto and sell my recently acquired 1.8 XEi instead, so it'll be interesting to see how the Pscan works my auto TCM, and what codes it sees on there too.
Roll on spring school holidays. ;)

As they say - you'll never go mad if yr changes yr mind often enough !! :D
No, not holding out much hope but will probs get a Pscan anyway, can sell the I930. I want to see the injector balance function particularly.
All these things are learning curves, it got me into reading data, something I'd not done.
I thought Rob was visiting this month or is that a no no?

Luckily I've been reading ECU live data for years, so I wasn't a stranger to it. I do wish that the Gap Diagnostics IID was available for the FL1, instead of just the later LRs, is it was really very good. However I've been informed the the IID isn't so fully functional on the FL2, when compared to its D3/4 ability. However in this instance, the point is moot anyway.

So the search is on for a decent diagnostic tool for the FL1, and the Pscan looks like it could be just the thing.

He was down this way a couple of weeks back, but didn't get a chance to visit me.

Hopefully he'll be back down in spring.

If his Pscan finds the issue with my auto, then I'm going to owe him some drinks. ;)

Can you live with it till then??
The icarsoft is OK for engine ecu only it appears and not all that the adverts says for that either.

The hawkeye has stopped production. They're selling the last units at inflated prices. When talking to bearmach about this you can't get past the online chat. Second had versions only from now on via site like ebay. Also they're not selling the licenses to add vehicles to the original hawkeye. The newer hawkeye Total is open for all lr vehicles it covers.
