Hi Everyone,
I am hoping someone is local to me who would be able to help me get my RR back o the road.
I would not normally ask for help like this however things seem to be against me.
I found out mot had expired, (Partner in the hospital so least of my worries)
took it for mot and it failed on the following:
shock absorber missing nearside rear
fuel system component leaking nearside front upper
power steering pipe/hose leaking front (x2 pipes/hoses)
drive shaft joint constant velocity boot split/insecure no longer prevents the ingress of dirt offside front outer
suspension arm ball joint dust cover no longer prevents ingress of dirt nearside and offside front upper
exhaust emissions exceed the manufacturer's specified limit

As you can see most of it seems minor things however i can no longer visit my partner in the hospital so really need to get this fixed asap
so if anyone is willing to hep I would very much appreciate it

Quickest way if things are that urgent is take it to a garage.

My only input would be to get a dirt cheap runaround to allow you to get to hospital and back etc....needs must, if hospital trips are an urgent necessity, you can't be picky with what gets you there and back.

We have a cheap spare car for the times the inevitable happens with our Land Rovers - as a responsible Green Oval owner that has external needs (in our case it is elderly parents, young kids etc) then being without a car would be difficult, so we have a cheap car (£160 I think it was) that we can use.

a missing shock absorber ?

I had my cv boots on mine, purely because I didnt have the time garage charged me 60 me supply the boot. at that price I had him do all 4. if you have a garge do that have him do the ball joint too. basically the ball joint will need to be pressed out with the appropriate tool.

power steering pipe. where is it leaking from the cooler unions ? they break when you try to undo them.. ask me how i know. i got a replacement off the bay of e, with the cooler pipes for £35 and a brand new radiator attached !!!

fuel system component leaking, nearside front upper ?? is it a diesel ?

yes it is diesel
and yes according to mot missing shock absorber

Not sure about minor. Can be an utter pain when rusted which is why garages don't like 'em. Swivel hub ball joint can be a PITA, as can getting the drive shaft out to do the CV boot. Fuel leak most likely leak off pipes although #4 sometimes starts weeping.

First thing first, replace the air filter and add a bottle of injector cleaner into the fuel tank.leave engine running on a fast idle, weight on the throttle pedal. a good blast back to the testing station and get them to test the emissions. If you cannot get the emissions to pass then save your money.

the Italian tune up !

I agree, if you can't get the emissions down, you may as well not bother with the rest. Sort that first. Is it using oil?
