Hi All,
Please help. My wheels are challanging me.
I was traveling on the freeway at about 85 mph when my 2010 Discovery 4 3.0 TDV6 went into "Restricted Performance" and I lost the sharp end of the normal power. When I was off the freeway I stopped and switched off. 5 minutes later I started the vehicle and all was OK. Traveled another 40 miles hard driving with no problem.. Should I look for something or just ignore till it comes on and stays on?

First port of call is always to get the codes read.

Search google D3 forum and search p2263 on there, loads of info.

Possibly the inlet manifold leaking, had same fault when increasing speed from 50 to 70mph. Had a mechanic carry out smoke test on engine which confirmed fault. Seems common fault with Discovery 4 as made of plastic? Plenty of videos on YouTube. About a 6 hour job to replace unfortunately.

P2263 has two subcodes(21, 22) which are shown only by dedicated scanner not generic OBD2 reader, scroll untill the code in the attached document and there are the possible causes and fixes

Thanks Sierrafery for you interest and reply to my query. I had the inlet manifold on bank 2 changed a couple of years back for a cracked manifold and found it by putting a blank sheet of newspaper under the engine cover and driving it for a few Ks. The paper was all black around where the crack was. Have done the same thing again but paper is clean. Is there any way you can think of to try and prevent the manifolds splitting. i.e. fiber glassing where the splits occurs. The problem has not come back in the last 5000 Ks.
