No. Just the engine. Get a diesel :p;)

Sorry it had to be done. It’s up to you, are you willing to battle through, what do you want?? o_O
Haha i want something that will move, under its own power, not just make noise!! That means v8 not diesel!!!!
It's £3k if i recall for a re-con engine. Is it worth it? I don't know
Or £300 for a 2nd hand one that may or may not be any good

I doubt if you hook my M51 to your 4.0 you will pull me anywhere. I can drag you about without the wheels on I assure you ;)

If I were you, you want to keep the one you got, only way to be sure a V8 is right is build one up yourself.
I think you can do that but it will take time and I don’t think it’s your daily? Decent engine could be cheaper but may have its own problems.
If you have one there you are not using you can prep it up to a high standard at your leisure and drive around like you do now in meantime?

Any decent Landy Indys near you?

It's not my daily, but that also needs to be sold/part ex'd!!
There's one Indy but i don't know anything about them, sadly. Always plenty of landys parked up though
I don't really have the space to do an engine rebuild and I'm guessing of need to find someone to put tophat liners in?
All time i don't have right now :(

Fresh ideas are always welcome.
You have an advantage over non-members , you have all the gurus here that know these things intricately that will help you

@monkfish24 is on a similar journey. Did the heads to find out it’s the liners/microfractured block. Check him out

There are options. No doubt you’ll think of something once you’ve slept on it, you always do

Plus you have a nanocom

I had very similar symptoms, I changed head gaskets, thermostats, etc.

At one point, the car was running at around 8mpg, whilst cruising, just because it was trying to keep itself running and not die.I finally decided to bite the bullet and rip it out and found that one cylinder hadn't fired enough to make even a slight sooty deposit. I haven't even bothered checking the liner, it's goosed.

I have looked at a few options but Turner offer a 3 year warranty on their engine, you can go for just the block, all the way up to a fully rebuilt engine unit, depending on your budget. I'm probably going to go for just the block, I have the rave manual and space to do the work so I will just rebuild it myself.
