The exhausts are all the once you get to the centre box. Only difference is twin or single tips. I got my last exhaust off of the usual scumbags. Think it was 80 quid for twins. Didn't come with any mounting hardware though, so remember to grab some because odds are the u-clamp will be goosed. I changed all of my rubber hangers at the same time too because I couldn't be arsed to fight them and cut them all off.

Old hangers are okay, Hope Indy will come up with hardware.

There’s few different types of rear box. You could buy a twin right hand only by mistake if you have a single. It comes out different angle with the ‘T’ on it.
ESR 3538 not quite same as my original and pricier.

Mine has never had a rear box on it til now, just rear straight pipe. Can’t find any - strange shape to be custom and fits like OE. Maybe itl be quieter :)

What I meant is all the same be it V8 or Derv. The centre boxes are both the same. If you get single back box it is the same part for V8 or Derv and again with twin tip. I don't know why they advertise them as separate items for each engine type.

As for quieter, when I had a "slight leak" on my centre box it was pretty much completely detached from the rear of the exhaust, I personally didn't notice any change in sound after I replaced it all with new, just the exhaust came out a different place. The radiator fan makes more noise.

You cn fit the petrol one.. You can even remove the shield. In the rear I had just a pipe, bent by my ex. No stuff. Less likely to touch underneath, that went through fine at a good mate's MOT in France :).
Here we pratice rent a cat and rent a silencer :) for our RTV

Petrol mid box has a heat shield. Not sure it makes any difference, fitment is same and they are both hot metal.
I got a petrol one because it was 20 quid cheaper than diesel. Don't recall any heat shield, but then it is Britpart. So maybe they just fobbed it off?

Mine was listed as a 4.0/4.6 petrol has no heat shield. Was going to buy straight steel pipe Brian found £28, but opted for a midbox - extra tenner to have atleast one silencer.
Rear pipe is now too far gone to weld up, rear box is all I can get so now it will have two silencers
MOT guy said he’s fine with just a rear pipe - it was always like that for years with no problems.

I don’t even wanna look, £37 midbox was, £39 tailpipe. That’s about what Rimmers would want for finding the bits in the storeroom and putting their label on it

£76 for cat back, will get me through MOT, likely has few year guarantee, sound for now

To do List is pretty short now compared to last year.

Don't buy shítpart.

Mine is a shítpart one i fitted when i bought her.

2 years later it's full of holes, and is for want of a better word, peeling apart.

sorry Enry lar it’s that or scrap, gotta keep it on the road as a daily, MOT with cheapest box I could find or nothing and all my fine works gone to the scrapper.
Same as my EAS last year.

We will find out brand tomorrow when it arrives :)

I'd be inclined to chuck a coat of VHT on it before fitting to help it fight off the crust ;)

I have thought about that. Got half a can left over of laquer from the cam cover but it stays sticky for days and likely keep the crud in. Don’t have the vehicle at the mo, once I get the parts their going straight to the garage.

Maybe take few pics for us first ;)

Is actually worse now.

Front cat is better than it looks. The ATF I wiped over it later when doing the Tbox cleaned it up well

Rub it down with ATF! Honest.

Original doozle front pipe is indestructible. Never heard of one gone. Not sure about the V8 set?

Stainless is the way to bring out the V8 burble they sound awesome. Chances are it will outlast the vehicle

My front pipe is 18yrs old and being a swansea car its survived well ;)

When i was less fond of the car she landed on a rock offroad using the rear muffler as a shock absorber, hence the replacement ;)

Had to crawl under and hammer the mounts straight too, as the rear section fell off the mounts and started banging on the floor ;)
