L322 trim upgrade?

I have a 2002 Vogue in Zambezi silver. A previous owner has gone to the effort of fitting Autobiography grill, side vents and chrome bar side steps... it looks tasteful against the silver and black trim with little bits of chrome here and there. The interior has nice navy blue leather and cream piping in very good condition, however the dash trim is "scratch card" Foundry which really lets it down. My dilemma is, do I go with the cherry wood, burr walnut, piano black or black leather effect? I like the cherry wood but think it feels too much like IKEA, the burr is more gentleman's club and smoking jackets but that's a bit old fashioned for me and the piano black is... boring! I have seen some US transfer kits which are horrendous.... bright red! Has anyone tried dipping or carbon wrap? I am tempted to pimp the trim myself but then I would be reminded of what a rubbish job I did every time I get got in the vehicle!

Saw that episode, probably gave me the idea. Think I would go for Leopard print or a subtle Pringle... something tasteful? Problem is that I am in the wrong part of the Country for all these new fangled ideas... waterless coolant, dipping, wrapping and late night shopping... takeaway apps.... fibre broadband... Netflix... Mains gas... Mains sewage.. Electricity... Water which meets minimum national pressure! I have wimped out and bought a full set of Cherry wood from a local who is doing a bulk buy price for the trim and other bits and bobs. It will leave me with spare trim to have a play around with, one of my friend's makes Carbon parts for British Touring Car but it is very very very expensive, even with mates rates. I don't think anyone expects to see the real stuff in cars as there are so many aftermarket fake Carbon products?

Might give it a go, Customer of mine has done stuff in the past but haven't seen him for a while to ask how it stands up to punishment. I would go for a radical make over but un like the Classic and P38 the L322 seems a bit too refined for silliness, its just a little bit serious and grown up.

I think the L322 is more SUV than the Classic and P38.... more lifestyle choice, weekends away at Centrparcs, kids and the School run. The interior of L322 has too much going on, much like most modern cars for modern sensible people who want a one stop shop or an app! For me "grown up" is when you start worrying about matching socks and fixing that dripping tap or finding a hole in your favourite t-shirt! The L322 demands to be kept clean and respectable whereas its predecessors just say "what the fcuk! Have some fun!" I think the fact that I have gone out and bought a new trim set rather than "have a go" with a rattle can or carpet off cuts, says it all? Why, when I have just bought the thing am I looking at buying a P38 for a bit of fun.. a project.. must be mad!?
 
Have found myself looking at larger alloys! Why? Nothing wrong with the wheels on it. Changed the alloys on my last P38 from the larger rare mondial wheels to smaller alloys because I thought they were too bling and here I am jumping on the "lets make it look newer" band wagon, that's what the L322 does to you, it draws you into the Rat race!

Bit of an insult to many of us, but hey why not generalise. Let's talk about the P38 being a pervert's car. ;)

Not sure how it is an insult, hard to dispute the fact that the brand has gone mainstream, don't get me on Evouge ownership... So perverts drive P38s, haven't heard that one before, I thought it was 3 door Discos?

It's an insult because most on here, ( those reading the page)do not have an L322 as a ' lifestyle choice, weekends away at Centrparcs, kids and the School run.' Personally, I use mine for transporting dogs, towing horse trailers, pulling other 4x4s out of the mud, as part of a 4x4 response team, etc. The fact that I do all that in comfort and keep the vehicle clean, (which is the same as it's predecessors) , doesn't mean it deserves the above description and is not a workhorse to many.
The above description belongs to the ejoke (evoque) , which was built precisely for those roles.

Think you are missing the point, lifestyle wannabes don't join Land Rover forums! I would be very surprised if someone commented... "how very dare you, we use our Range Rover branded product for keeping the Jaaaaaaag company!" Had to do a run through Stamford (low lands) and was amazed at the number of spotless and very new RR parked outside, shall we say positioned outside, spotless houses... houses with large garages? I think, living in a hole, comes to mind if someone doesn't see how the brand has transformed from Farm vehicle to "lifestyle" accessory for the masses, I would not include enthusiasts as the masses. I have a friend who bought matching Overfinch RR, one black and one white, why? He liked the way "Overfinch" lights up the ground when you open the door. Six months on and they have matching Mercs! We have brand loyalty but a lot of buyers use these vehicles to bolster their perceived wealth, status, success or ability to make a monthly payment? So, has the new 2002- RR rebirth been designed to cover a greater audience? Yep! In doing that has it lost some of its playful charm? Quite possibly!
