p38 lhd 4,6
After a new rh doorlatch my p38 asked for a keycode.Because a previous owner changed becm I use sync mate to synchronise,I hear the becm clicking so it is making contact with sync mate.
With multimeter I checked all wires and coonection ......nothing.
What problem could block the synchronising.

What is not working at the moment is the key fob (never worked)
both back doors are superlocked , this happende after the front latch replacement
Central doorlock system(by key) only closes.Opening happens mechanicly

The display only asks for keycode and gives no faults
check engine light is not working so no sync

I d hoped that sync mate would look at any problems

Syncmate has nothing to do with locking. It is the EKA code the car needs.
Because the code was changed I could do two things Let the dealer search the vin code in the becem through nanocom and then look for the corresponding code in the books or take syncmate and connect the keycode inside the becm with the ecm.The starting procedure always worked fine so far
I am trying to eliminate faults in my car that have nothing to do with the syncmate procedure. If door locking has nothing to do with the conection between becm and ecm I hope find out through the forum where to look.
By the way I changed the whole rh door lock unit

This has nothing to do with the BeCM it is just a door lock, as long as the blade in your fob matches the physical doorlock you have and the fob is the original one that went with the BeCM in the car, then you only need to enter the EKA code to get the BeCM to enable the car for starting and operating the doors via RF fob. The other "Superlocking" issues are secondary I think.

Syncmate has nothing to do with key code or Vin. Syncmate reads the Code stored in the ECM and loads it in the BECM to turn on the Engine ECU and allow the engine to run. Changing the door latch should have no consequence. However changing the BECM and not changing the key fobs will. You need very sophisticated diag to put a new key code in the BECM.

What I am trying to say is that the car always worked fine,He only asks for his keycode now.The only thing I try to do is to let the ecm and the becm correspond in order to start the engine.Doing this with sync mate is I think the same as entering the keycode at the doorlock

NO it is NOT. Syncmate has nothing to do with door locks. Please listen.

So because I do not have the keycode of all the hardware that once was replaced by a previous owner I need nanocom to read the vin in the becm so I can get the keycode from the dealer.

What I read on forums when you do not have a keycode you can use sync mate
The lock that was replaced was the passengers side it s a left h drive

That's about it. Then you would have to get a key fob to suit that key code. Lot of money. Best thing is use Nanocom to disable EKA and passive disable. Then just use the key in the lock.

Just to hammer it home, if it's asking for Keycode, you need the EKA code, nothing to do with syncmate.
As Wammers said, get EKA and immobilisation turned off in the BECM and it will work with just the key and no more Keycode lockout.

Thank you for the helpfull lessons

There are 3 lots of stuff that can get funny, the EKA, the sync of Engine Management to BECM and the sync of key-fob to BECM. EKA needs working lock to be entered unless you have diag like Nanocom. Engine sync needs Syncmate or nanocom or similar. Fob-sync: later years sync the key fob to BECM when in the ignition but earlier models need key in door (unlocked) and then press lock and turn to lock then press unlock and turn to unlock. Might take a few goes. Sometimes one of the keys has to sync before the other one can.

There is a key code locked in the BECM. If the fob code does not match this code you will never sync the fob to the BECM. If the BECM is unlocked the key code and EKA code are visible along with security or immobilisation code (ECM code). If the BECM is locked only the security code is visible. The other two are blank. And cannot be viewed unless the BECM is unlocked with special software and Faultmate MSV 2. A new fob code can be input to match a fob but it has to be done in a specific manner using Faultmate MSV 2.

Ok I know what to do.
Is it true that a pam number w39 on the becm does correspond with a late 94 p38 like a have.
I am not sure a new becm was put in I just found in de back of the car a becm ignition key and speedometer display housing
I found that late 94 p38 have much lower numbers.but the becm in the back of my car also had a w39 number.
But anyway I do not know what is cheaper bringing everything alive
or replacing the hardware .Someone nearby has a p38 gems with all good working parts which he wants to sell.
