Thinking about it the u hose is the same diameter both ends so In theory the metal pipe that goes around the back of the engine and then along the side should be of similar diameter

Don't forget to get it flared to stop hose slipping off under pressure

Before you do anything you need to know the I/D of the cleaned up hole in the head it presses into. Guessing don't work all that often.

Just need a rough size of the tube then I can get some ordered dont want to be ordering 22mm OD and its 22.5 mm OD if you get my gist. Once it has arrived then I'll take the old one out and take some proper measurements.

If you intend to turn one, the O/D of the tube will have to be the O/D of the lip for pipe retention at least. And to I/D needs to be 6 mm less than the I/D of the hole in the head to give an initial 3 mm wall.

I was going to get thick walled tube so it would give a bit more to play with. Maybe 4 or 5 mm wall and could also turn a flare into it to stop u hose popping off

Ok so after a week or so of things getting in the way finally managed to get the pipe sorted. For anyone who's interested the pipe I got was 24mm o/d 5mm wall thickness. The size of the hole in the head was 19.07mm in mine, so I turned the pipe to 19.20mm x 40mm at one end and the other end was turned to 21mm with a flare on the end to stop the rubber pipe coming off. Had to collapse the one I took out in on itself to get it out because it was so corroded. Turned new one froze it with my pipe freezing machine smeared end with rtv just in case and gentle tapped it back into the head. Was a nice fit so hopefully it stay put with no leaks.
