What’s your personal experience with LED’s

Only reason I used leds was I got annoyed with crap bulbs blowing or the heat affecting them. If you get rear lights muddy they soon warm up & problems start.

Fair play to the leds I have not had probs with damage or water.

@t0m1980 depending on the year of your motor you may need an earthed led for the instrument panel. Otherwise all the indicators flash at once

I helped a friend install LED kits all around on his '86 110. It was very easy to do.
I thought the total cost for the kits he paid for were very expensive at £600+ compared to my adding quality LEDs and 5Watt/6Ohm resistors all around on my Disco 2 for about a tenth of the price.
His 110 does look good though with the LEDs!

I am slightly concerned by this as I did think it could be an issue, but these https://www.devon4x4.com/clear-lens-led-light-kit-60047.html are advertised as “plug and play”.. there is a relay so I’m hoping it will be ok .

I have already established I’ve paid too much, but they arrive tomorrow so I got over it very quickly.

If not ok ,ordered this from bolt on bits. You can find on fleabay (another expense)
Easy fix replaced bulb & conect to earth in the dash.

So does this goes in the strip under the gauges then?

Yes. Remove the existing bulb & replace.
Take the front binnacle off to do. May help with long nose pliers to remove bulb fixing if you have fat fingers

The fat fingers are the least of my worries

Would I be right in saying that with led headlights, a boomslang loom would be pointless, ie, if there's enough current getting to the leds to light them, they wouldn't get brighter with the loom. Also would the switch still have 12v going through it and still be liable to burning out.

I bought my 200Tdi with LEDs fitted already. They look good on the car and are much more visible to others. However every so often the indicators flash outside but the dash light doen't. Following behind the LD one day (I do let the wife have a go now and then) I saw that both rear indicators came on at the same time. Hmm, guess there might be some sort of wiring/relay issue?? or the PO fitted budjet lights matbe?? Sometines think I'm tempted to fit the military speck bulb type instead. Sim;ple and give better vis than OE.
Re headlights. I don't have LED headlights, but I did fit some H4 LED replacement bulbs that I bought for the Discovery I resently sold before fitting them. Well, on low beem the light was brighter, but the pattern was fuzzy. On Hi beem they where completely drowned out by the Wipac 100w spots. Then it faild the MOT and standard H4 have been put back in..........
