Range Rover purely because its the most bang for your buck.

But as with any L322 it will throw a few expensive wobbles.

Disco 4 a close 2nd.

Depends really on what you'll be doing?

What will most of your driving involve?

The RR L322 is ironically the best value, most comfort, most power and probably as costly on wobbles as D4. (I had a D3 and it cost a few grand in repairs around 95k miles, suspension amongst other things)..

95% road use. Do about 8000 miles and tow a tourer for 1500 miles. Seen a few 3.6TDV8 on 2008-9 for half price so tempted if sound as can hold some cash back for any issues that crop up. Could be a wiser move.. I just love a Defender 110 XS spec..

If it is primarily road use i'd be inclined to look at the l322.

The defender is a great motor but you have to ask yourself whether its worth it for what you'll use the vehicle for,

The 4.4 is effortless with the 8spd.

This feedback is great. I’m most drawn to the RR and I’ll get a 6 month warranty. The Vogue Centre seems to get some good ones in.. I’m buying in December so plenty of time to find the right vehicle..

That L322 is class:)
Never had any problems and the V8 & 8speed its excellent. Luxury with plenty of get up and go:)

Depends what you want, is the big question on the style you buy.

What driving do you expect to be doing?

Questions i would being asking:

Can you afford the repairs.
Will you repair it yerself or go to garages.
Do you want comfortable motorway driving.
Is yer insurance reasonable on these vehicles.
Have yer got oft road parking or a garage to hide it in. All 3 are regularly nicked and known for it.

Range Rover with the tdv8 is an epic car and It’s a lot of car for the money. Obviously this could potentially mean more issues. However all 3 are likely to have issues and you are more likely able to fix the defender cheaper than the other 2. Any issues that crop up in the defender will be well documented by now so in terms of keeping it on the road, the defender will be easier.

The big elephant in the room with the defender is although it is full of character and a very unique drive it is, in all honesty a crap road car. The only reason I would choose one over the Range Rover is that it shouldn’t lose hardly any money whereas the disco and RR will still depreciate.

If you can afford the running costs and afford to fix it when it goes wrong then definitely choose the Range Rover.
