Just removed the battery cover on my 2010 FL2 (old model), to check battery and noticed a small diameter black ribbed pipe with a 90 degree elbow at the end which is not connected to anything at the elbow. The pipe emerges from the inner wing through a grommet near the earth strap and was loose behind the battery.

i can't see anything obvious within range for this to connect to. With the engine running I can't feel any suck or blow from the elbow on the back of my hand.

Looking through the Haynes manual I can't find any photos of this pipe. Any idea what it is or what it should connect to?

Thanks

Robin

HI Robin fl2 have just checked mine and it doesn`t have one, it could possibly be a vent pipe from a previous battery.
I found a similar one in the bottom of the battery tray when I changed the battery. but somebody might come on later
to prove me wrong as usual lol.
