Anyone got or driven a 130 Tipper? Thinking about getting one but not sure wether they can take much weight and still go round corners without falling over. Have LDV Tipper just now but really miss four wheel drive, i've seen 130's with chip bins advertised in LRO but wonder if they can take the weight like a transit or similar.

We have a 130 dropside tipper at work.

Its an ex military vehicle, apparantly they come with a lot of useful things as standard, eg heavy duty suspension (has smaller springs inside the main coils at the rear) , heavy duty suspension, warn winch, salisbury axle and anti roll bar at the back.

Its a 3.5 V8 on LPG, so theres plently of power for when youve got a full load of chips and your towin a 2 ton chipper!

It performs fine on the road, can be a bit rolly on the corners if youve got a full load but I think most trucks have that problem when youve got 2 tons or so of woodchip or logs in the back.

MATE OF MINE HAS A 130 which has been stretched from a 110.. it has an early transit back on it and tipping ram, heavy duty rear springs same as above, we quite oftern fill it up with logs and chips well over a ton and pull a twin axel trailer with excess of 2 ton on it.... pulls it like a dream probably looking at a rolling train of 6.5tons bit rolly on corners compared to a transit but you must be a foot higher. you can buy beefed up the antirole bars from scorpion but it does effect your axel articulaion off road.....
