discovery td5 dashwarning light

hi can anyone help me pls . a warning light as come on on my dashboard its a yellow sign of a car { looks like your looking at a pic of a car from above view } and there is a arrow on each side of the car pointing downwards . plus I have the 3 lights light up, the downhill light ,abs, n the other one {3 amigos} but was told the reason for them is coz I recently had discs n pads replaced all round n it will need resetting to get them of, its the car with arrows what is worring me , I cant even find it on goggle the warning sign.

A picture may help as would telling us you own a Discovery TD5.

I don’t know but think the advise given is wrong.

Don’t worry there are many gurus to help.

But they need car details and a pic says a thousand words what year?

Sounds like the ACE warning light? Is it amber or red? Either way it needs attention.

thanks marjon , This is my 2nd discovery I bought a td5 about 13 yr ago n it was only 3 yr old at the time ,it was a dream I loved that discovery so much but I went through a bad marriage break up and my ex smashed it to pieces with anything he got his hands on ,I had to sell it for scrap it was so badly damaged. I was more upset losing my discovery then my hubby. I always said I get another one one day and here I am all these years later and finally bought myself a landrover discovery td5 on a x reg , I have no need for a car so big as I am on my own but I love them and trying to learn n fix small jobs myself as I don't have no one to help me with repairs and a garage charged me 525.00 for welding my chasie the other week and 195.00 for replacing my discs n pads which I had to buy myself plus 195.00 labour. so what ever this problem is now I need to find out what it is n try and fix it myself. give the neighbours sumet laugh about when they see a 49yr old woman with her overralls on n tool box lying underneath a landy , when there use to seeing me with high heels on n the tutty.lol

thank you so much AdamD1 for that diagram and your bang on saying its the ACE warning light as number 24 is the one whats light up amber the min I drive it. have you any idea what the ace warning light means ? thanks

I’m fairly new to the D2 so I couldn’t help much more than suggesting you check the ACE fluid level, if it’s down look for leaks. There are plenty of more knowledgeable people than me on here, maybe try the discovery part of the forum, state the car you have with the year etc and hopefully someone that know what they are talking about will see it. You probably need access to proper D2 specific diagnostics.

You would get some more insight on the Discovery forum. Its ACE yes and probably signifies low fluid which probably means a leak. Could also be low pressure. Check to see the fluid is circulating hard in the header tank with engine running. Its on RHS at the front of the dual tank shared with the PS. Check for leaks. Top it up with at least ATF or ideally LR cold climate fluid, then source the leak. Google options for leaking ACE system.
Unless you can DIY fix it, ACE can sometimes be an expensive job. Hence why lots ditch it. Either way, your choice. But rams and hoses are available and not hard to fit. The solid hoses to the ACE block are sometimes a pain.
Best of luck and dont let the header run dry or you will fry the pump and possibly burn down your whole engine bay.

Oh yeah, for the 3 amigos you need a friendly person with a nanocom or Hawkeye to diagnose. But its either shuttle valve, hub sensor/wiring or a knackered hub. Even new hubs can throw a light as people like to fit £48 hubs off ebay made by who knows who, in who knows where. Sometimes a Wabco hub is a sound investment. But they are £200+. It’s probably a sensor or shuttle valve though. Not too hard to fix. Loads on web about all this. Dont panic! Unless your mot is up tomorrow.

After fitting new brakes I had the amigos on and off for a few weeks. Been fine for a while now so probably dust or something on the sensor. They are interesting beasts to work out!
