Hi can any of you guys help me I have lost my only set of keys to 04 Freelander maybe they are in engine bay so is there an easy way to get in there without smashing anything..Landrover can't help me with key code they said break barrel out of keyed lock to find the code...Help please have tried doing search on forums but no luck...Tia

How can you lock the car without the key?

Search how to open the bonnet from the front as GG said. ;)

If you don't find the keys, then LR can order you a set from the chassis number records, although it's far from a budget option.

Land Rover here in Australia did a vin number check on computer and my age Freelander 2004 does not compute so their advice was to remove the keyed door barrel and get code off that..Not keen to destroy the lock if I don't have to or have a locksmith destroy it either..So was hoping one if you guys might have an idea.. I have searched it here but get no response.

I would also like to know this...
I didn't say I locked the car without the key I said I have lost the keys but they may be under the bonnet which was up because the battery was being tested for charge..Car got locked bonnet slammed down maybe lost keys inside bonnet sitting on motor...Hope that explains my question

I hope I have done that and can somehow retrieve them that is why I hope there is a way to get the bonnet up accessing the catch isn't possible tho it seems..my local garage said smash grill..not happy about that tho

It is possible.

That link above shows how somebody did it. I believe there may be other ways, once again a search would be needed.

What LR AU said wasn't quite true. What they meant to say is, they can't be arsed with F1 any more. I've had similar issues here in NZ with wheel locking nut keys.

Just want to thank everyone for their input luckily for me my brain got into gear and I searched the bin and found my keys I accidentally threw them away with grandsons smelly clothes..lesson learned new keys cut asap
