I have the power I initially wanted from a powerbox without needing one. Still a chance my FIP is tiring so il not chance it yet, dependability was my main reason for P38 so is main factor.

@Bix whens last time you had intercooler off and new air filter? Intercooler fills with crud and light oil steals load of power. Pipes can get stretchy too
It probably could do with a good service, I replaced fluids earlier in the year, but couldn't get an air filter so resorted to air blowing the old one until it looked OKish. Not had the intercooler off for at least 6 years. I've no interest in a powerbox, I have 250k miles on the original engine and gearbox, no intentions of lunching them at this point. FIP was rebuilt a couple of years back, so I assume that is good. I'll degunge and go from there.

Thought I'd better find what was knocking as it was getting louder.

Oops. Yep thats one loose brake caliper. Oh and a nice dose of grease from where the jubilee clip came off the CV boot.

Well, yesterday I arrived home after 12 days away with the car, camping and being a short ass, sleeping in the back with the double seat removed. I did 3350 miles from Jersey, well St Malo via Germany and ferry past Copenhagen and Malmo, through Sweden to Norway with some scenic routes taken in and a bit of mountain walking and a drive along the Atlantic highway. Love using the car for this the lowered tail gate makes an excellent kitchen/table/seat. Like being able to see well and I have the wider tyres and good tyres fitted so in the rain on the autobarns felt as safe as you could! Didn't drive fast typically 65/70mphish, no over taking going up hill, coming up behind other vehicles without having to use the brakes etc. Came back via Kristiansand and the ferry to Hirtshalls and then two days to St Malo and ferry home. All worked except the FIP half way through the trip(as per other thread). Was going to calculate mileage etc but many fuel pumps did not give a receipt and didn't think about writing it all down. So new FIP, then perhaps air bags all round and time for headlining again.......... Might even respray the bonnet and roof.........

Sounds great. Nice looking car. Might want to edit your number plate out.

Is 122 Lb ft correct? Quick google search shows Caliper to front hub bolts 110 Nm 81 ft/lb for L322

Was that from a manual? Cos my manual states 48 + 90° ? Don’t know what you would end up with though following that.
Also states use new bolts, but it does in many case I often think that’s a cya but am sure new ones would come with a type of thread lock already on.

I would go with clean and thread lock, then check regularly for a while.

@wammers @marjon I'm at work so I just googled l322 brake caliper torque. Something tells me I didn't torque it up to 110 nm as as you say that is tight and I'm sure I would have remembered that, or maybe not, I forget these days, well I think I forget, I can't remember now

Cheers for the info, helpful as ever.:D

I just do brake bolts up Gorilla tight ;) Not the caliper slider bolts OBVS but the carrier gets a good "turn" ;)

Done a fair few L322 brake Jobs and never had a bolts come out on me..

Mainly because I clean up the freds ;) and put a good dollop of Blue Loctite on them.. ;)

new bolts is because they normally have that blue stuff on them to stop them coming loose. What's it called?!
