200 tdi clutch

Hi,
The clutch on my D reg 90 200 tdi is on way out. Have read a lot about HD clutches on the forum, with the top ones seeming to be a 130 plate with modified fork and upgraded release bearing.
So will a 130 clutch fit in my 200 tdi? If so is it ok to fit because as it is slightly larger it will not sit in the footprint of the old one and the outermost circumference will be up against the rust.
Secondly has anyone used the extreme thrust bearing from paddocks, it’s like 90 quid and uses an Ali carrier and uprated bearing?

The clutch units are the same size, 130 friction plate is a little larger and has 8 damper springs.

I fitted a 130 clutch to my tdi and it fitted just the same.

Also update the clutch fork to the XD one at the same time.

Change everything you can while you are in there - you don’t want to skimp and have to take it apart again!

The 130 is slightly heavier to operate but not really by much.

I have a 200tdi with lt77 and have just fitted second 130 clutch with no problems. Just make sure you do the spigot bush while everything is apart.

+1. daft not to. soak it in engine oil for 24 hours before fitting too - as per the destructions
