Using search in the Rangie section for Rave in the title brings up approx 80 threads

It may well do, but it would seem most if not all of the free download sites are no longer available. Plenty of PDF versions online, but they are difficult and long drawn out to search and use. I listed a couple of RAVE download sites in tech archive EAS post, but have deleted them as they no longer work. The present one i have loaded is P38 2000 Rave which covers Defender P38 and L322. But that is no longer available for download. Don't know if he posts to USA but this disc has Defender P38 and early L322 on it. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/RANGE-RO...698&pg=2060778&_trksid=p2060778.c100290.m3507

I think the OP was a little "direct" in his request (which never goes down too well). But he got a less than warm welcome initially, although I think many subsequent posts did their best to assist him.

Maybe not our best advert? But all of us are only human.
I have not seen any follow up where he has come back and said he has been given the info he needed.

It is just like any other social group, you need to ease in and get familiar with the crowd or they react by shutting you out.

Direct? I'd say more abrupt which was taken as demanding and rude. Please could someone direct me to a copy of RAVE that covers the L322 as I cannot find one. That would be direct. My mother used to say "I want doesn't get." Mind you, she said a lot of weird ****.

These electronic devices encourage the behaviour when you're typing 1 letter at a time.

And if he did, would he thank us for it ?

Also, typing means subtle nuances are lost ...

Looking from the noobs position its surprising how many haven't used a forum before. Some join up and struggle to reply to posts or find the fred they originally started. Some ask a question on the end of a fred that has nothing to do with what they're asking. Not all are like this. Some are franticly trying to get help from the web which is how they have found lz.

You can compare to other scenario's like entering a pub but how often would a noob not get served at the bar fer not introducing themselves. Lz has been know for its character and discussed on every other lr forum over the years many times. It wouldn't be too difficult to approach noobs in a kinder manner and point them in the right direction at the same time. Some will need time to find their feet before they're able to do this

"...the rave disk is in the tech section in the link below. As a forum we request new members to introduce themselves and their vehicles in the intro link below. Always good to get feedback and a thank you to help given/offered. Let us know how you got on..."

Theres a betterer chance they'll stick around for longer. They may even be able to add to the forum when they get to grips it. We were all noobs at one point.
