U mean to say it’s not just the D3 that u need to be double jointed to remove parts, ;)

I better not show @Henry_b where the engines oil filter is on the D3 then, lol

Im surprized you can get to the filter through the jungle of wiring & multi plugs

It’s not to bad actually , however , have to be careful when u screw the housing back on again in not catching any wires

Only trouble , it’s a pain trying lean right over the engine, normally put a thick blanket on top to stop metal parts rocking on the end of ur elbow and we all know how that feels

I do fancy a newer landy looking at yours ;)

Just picked the old bus up from warranty work!

New NSF hub bearing the old one has collapsed, a warranty is a wonderful thing.. ;)

Oh and I managed to get a pic with some of her older siblings! ;)

Also got a nice shot of a TD5 fender in a shell service station on the M5 ;)

Got chatting to the owner and it's got a Hybrid turbo bigger intercooler, alive stage 3 map apparently it goes like shít off a shovel .

Can believe it!

I put it on thickly on the floor pan areas, just helps drown out any drone.

This Motor spends alot of time sitting at 70-75mph on the M5 so any additional "noise drowning" is a good thing!! ;)

Also took her to Much Marcle for the steam rally

Becuase of the abundance of Disco's I managed to lose mine in the sea of silver D2's lol

I set out today to do the rear axle oil.
Of course it wasn't easy because some muppet had tightened the shizzle out of the filler plug, even though it's plastic! Eventually a pair of mole grips got ti out.
bJhvVVul.jpg

Oh and why in the F did LR put plastic bung plugs in there?

Just to do the diff oil lol
kBx7tJRl.jpg

Mole grips and pliers saved the day!

Oil didn't look too bad and twas up to level.

The magnet had some metallic paste on it but no chunks!

This is the Oil I used, for anyone wondering! ;)

Millers Fully syn, isn't cheap but I believe you get what u pay for. will be changing it every year. Or every other oil change.

Some upgraded brass filler plugs are on their way..

Another thing done today.
I'll be fitting a Galvanised Chassis at some point so this is just a bandage to help preserve this chassis while I save up for a new one. :)

This is the big tub 2.5 litre, half a can does all the chassis and arches. ;)

As i hinted to above my sidestep was warped to some degree, years of use and rot had taken their toll.

Luckily my "barely GCSE" carpentry cam to use when A piece of timber was cut shaved etc to lenght and using coach bolts, layed under the step to make it look nicer and also add some rigidity!

Not 100% but better and stiffer than b4.

I used rubber bungs to cover the silver coach bolts.

Graphite powdered the key and locks!

e3AOqSBl.jpg

Makes the key smoother!

Had a Grrr moment when the key wouldn't go in the keyhole!
