Rear seats out of my three-door, and then the start of my ‘Cramper Van’ project for a 3-4 week jaunt around the north west/north coast of Scotland.

Bunk built with space for underneath storage, custom cut foam mattress on order.

Need to decide on the best way to black-out the windows.

The other party's insurers have finally settled now. £1010 to walk away, or £757 if I wanted to keep the car. Happy with that. Reckon I'll keep it. Should be able to get enough bits to sort it for that!

200 mile round trip to a chap who was breaking one the same colour. Got myself a front wing, 2 doors, rear bumper, some steelwork from the rear quarter panel and a rather grubby (but not hanging down like an old tent!) headlining. Bit disappointed with the doors, (starting to rust and have been re-sprayed at some point) but better than what I've got!

Have sent a request to local firm for remapping Information and quote today. And it’s only 4:30 in the morning! May try to re-spring the rear door (tail gate) handle as it’s been floppy for ages. Like my

Tried getting a better reception on my radio by cleaning the arial earth, but no better. I'm beginning to think the BBC have turned down the power. I reckon it's a government ploy to make us switch to DAB. I get decent reception outside my house but 5 miles down the road, I lose it. It's got worse since fitting a dash cam. It's the original Landrover radio/cd unit so I'm loath to change it.

Well I took her on a 100 mile trip to pick up a recon vcu then took her greenlaning for the first time since I've owned her (1 week) AT tyres and drop links ordered, ready to fit Friday for a weekend wondering around in the Lil hippo

FL2: Towed a caravan for over 200 miles, mostly sticking to the 60mph limit but occasionally touching 70 when overtaking.
Found it better on the twisty, windy A & B roads to use ‘sports mode’ and change up a gear manually (leaving downshifts automatic).
In stop/start traffic, better in ‘sports mode’ to minimise the car changing up then changing down just a few seconds later.
Averaged 24mpg using premium diesel.
Held no-one up.
No issues.

Took it for its MOT a lovely chap small Independent garage servicing & repairs plus MOT work only , who was word of mouth recommended charged £47 and as he says “your paying me for my time so if it’s right I’ll pass it , rather than the nationals at £29 who your paying to find something wrong as they aren’t covering the labour let alone the testing kit at that low price” . It passed with flying colours so my work over the past few weeks aided by those on here to replace disks and pads all round plus new handbrake shoes and all the gubbins not forgetting replacing the split DPF Pressure sensor pipe has all been worthwhile

Oh hi guys, I am new here.

I had to change the exhaust on mine today since it looked as though I got my exhaust from the remains of the Titanic. Utterly disgusted when I got dirt under my nails, as you can imagine. But I gave my hands a good soak and all is well in the world.

I got the exhaust changed without a hitch too, well, other than having to nip to Halfords to get a u-clamp, because the old one wasn't coming off.

Catch you later lovies.

On the way home noticed a significant amount of smoke from the exhaust and a serious drop in power when going uphill.
I already had an EGR bypass kit ready to go in so I started on that tonight, in case that was the issue.
However while removing the EGR valve I saw a split in the EGR to manifold hose, which is most likely the real cause.
Ordered a replacement, will just have to use the Disco while I wait for it to arrive!

Took the car on a 50 mile run after fitting the VCU etc.
Checked the diff casing for oil leaks after removing the rear cover and it's as dry as a bone.
Knocked up a wooden box to send the old VCU back to Bell-weighs as heavy as the unit !!
Got a reminder from the Warrany people (Momentum Warranties in Perth) to say that the dealer warranty expires next month and if I wish to take out a 12 month policy it will cost £320. Anyone had experiences of Momentum and can offer advice-Good or bad ??

Not many Warranty companies will cover cars older than 12 months. I'm just getting my money back after a dealer included it with my Freelander purchase last week on a 16 yr old car.
Would have been a waste of time.

Good luck.

Took dashboard out of my donor car to see how hard it is!! I hope I never have to do it with a view to putting it back in again!! Useful to know what is behind it though.

New turbo hose has arrived so I replaced the split hose and the EGR valve.
Went for a spin - it might be my imagination but the car seems to be much nippier.
Will take it to work and back tomorrow which will determine whether the smoke and power loss has gone now.
