Good day Dear Sirs! :) Several days ago got myself a left hand drive 2003 M57 automatic L322 (197k km on the odometer, last documented service at 267k km by VIN check) and obviously loving it so far. However the car has several issues and I have a strong belief they are somehow common. So any advice will be much appreciated, thanks in advance!
1. Left head light ignites from 1-3 attempts with a notification to check it on the dash. Light color differs from the right one, more blue-purplish. Is it a dead bulb, or dying igniter?
2. Front climate fan seems to be not working. Climate works & cool air blows on the back row, but nothing on the front. Sometimes (randomly) I feel barely noticeable cold when putting my hand on the air vents, but obviously that is not the way it should be. Where do I start digging?
3. Now the fun starts, air suspension. Doesn't work. When I've purchased the car, I had an "Air Susp. Inactive" message: https://prnt.sc/obl09g
The car looks pretty brutally so I suppose it is somehow locked in the top position: https://prnt.sc/obl16w
Air suspension switch is not lit up, does not reacts. When checking the fuses dash (why - below) I've discovered the most exciting stuff: http://prntscr.com/obl1ww THAT sticks from the air suspension slot, whatever it is.
4. Transmission box. When I've flicked the Low Gear flick, "Lo" indicator lit up on the dash & "Transmission box neutral" message appeared. (Should note that the key was in the ignition lock, engine wasn't running, gearbox was in the P position). Not sure what triggered it to go neutral, hope my incompetency (engine should be running & gearbox set to neutral, right?). Anyhow, after a quick research over Internet I've managed to get it out of neutral by pulling out the fuse #37. Haven't touched "Lo" flick after that.
Two new messages appeared on the dash: "Self leveling suspension inactive" and "60 km/h", so now there are 3 warnings:
- Air Susp. Inactive;
- Self leveling suspension inactive;
- 60 km/h.
From my observations the car remains in the top position (for 5 days) so I suppose the springs do not leak.
Finally, dear sirs, are there any operational advices you might give me, for example the fuse #37 - should it be in the fuse box or not? How do I properly tow the car if needed? Any other "do's" and "do not's"?
Thanks in advance!

I don't at the moment have the time to answer all your issues....but Iwill answer the most important....

Change the bulb....like now!

I had issues with one failing to strike a few times, and was a different colour to the other one, a few days later it blew and sent a voltage spike through the car and took out most of the diagnostic systems on the car, took me 18 months until it resolved itself...and was a cause of much head scratching - still don't know how the diagnostic faults cured themselves, but all of a sudden I was able to plug into the computer again!

Be warned, and change it as soon as possible.

Got it, thank you, Saint, will do asap!

Hey @Mark Piercy , thanks for checking in. Unfortunately had not enough time to play with the car. Going to replace the bulbs, as for the climate fan - will start from replacing the FSR (though not 100% sure, it works perfectly on the back, doesn't blow only from the front vents). @Grrrrrr battery is brand new :p Haven't touched the EAS at all until figure out what and why sticks from the fuse box. After 10 days the car remains (visually) on the same height level, so looks like the springs are ok. Can't say anything about the compressor, haven't even seen it yet. Is there any way to check if it works? (EAS switch on the dash does nothing, is not even lit up).
Figured out that some people convert their l322 to coil suspension, does it worth it? Thanks in advance!

Not a sir but will say Never heard of an L322 going to coils. Has to be a million times worse than the crime of putting a P38 on coils. Dont know which 'springs' you're thinking are ok , L322 uses AIR bags, hence EAS. might be a fuse, a wire or some of that clever electrickery, but all fixable.

Addit: will now bow out and leave it to the 'sirs'

Springs!!!

Haha, thanks, that reaction on springs was expected :) I'd preferred to keep it with air bags. The thing is the nearest decent service is approx. 250 mi away from where I live, so I want to consider all the possible variants before I replace that wire with regular fuse & the car goes down... Thanks @backinblack, going to check all the glove box fuses today.

From what I have read on the web HIDs do change colour as they get old, hence the blue tinge.

I know it's basic stuff but have you turned the horizontal dial below the front air vent to blue?
