P38 help!

Correct, but there is no info on whether or not the FOB operates the central locking, so it could be an immobiliser problem, re-syncing the FOB may clear that.

If the fob is synced it can clear engine immobilisation or need for EKA, as sometimes pressing buttons with ignition key in ignition lock can. But if the fob is not synced and EKA code is needed it will do nothing. EKA code must have been entered and accepted before fob can be synced, but this is nothing to do with BECM to ECM sync which is the problem he has. Only diag can cure that.

Thanks guys for the help, the key fob locks and unlock the car fine, I have rick the pick looking at it for me so fingers crossed I’ll have a happy wife I can no time, then i can start looking for a vehicle for myself!

I'm on this one.

It has a few issue's. It looks like the system has been spiked at some point.
It's more than just diagnostics on this one.
I'll tell you something, It's one of the best P38's out there.

Thor 4.6L engine 2000 MY (like mine) will not do a thing. Just says "Engine Disabled" on the centre console if it has lost sync with the key.
