Freelander 1 low press. fuel pump question .. where ..

2006 freelander1 td4 ..

am wanting to buy a new pump ..
( rear arch low press. fuel pump )
anyone have a link for a known genuine one ??? ( pleez )
'bosch' or 'pierburg' at a guess ..

i usually get parts from here :

am unsure about buying 'aftermarket' as their page states
however .. other landy parts sites give similar info .. and no more
i.e. price seems to be the only pointer ..

so .. any links for a known good one ??

( have tried a rather quick LZ search )

have noted there's an 'inertia switch' mentioned
( in conjunction with fuel supply parts and the l.p. fuel pump )
if that switch is triggered by impact .. would it cut the fuel supply altogether ??
in that the engine wouldn't even start .. let alone run .. ???

basic issue : engine starts and runs .. but cuts out when go-pedal is pressed
'engine' dash light comes 'on'
( current lp.pump is suspect .. due to go faulty .. as it's got 105k miles on it
( so with that mileage .. best i get a new one in anycase

so far found an ebay link for a pierburg pump ( thanx Arctic2 )
but part be in germany .. and i need one soon rather than later

tempted to chance the advanced-factors offering ..

the adv.factors one has a 2year warranty ..
same as a part from a lr-dealership ..
all the pumps from Craddoks, Famous-Four, etc etc are similar price 118/126 thereabouts ..
dealership price be like 75% added ( to any part ordered via the parts dept. )
and whose to know what's in a box with a 'land-rover' sticker on it .. ..

last (original ) pump lasted 71k miles ..
bought replacement from dealership .. am sure it were a tad over £200
that's done 105k miles .. a bit over the 'fail' mileage .. going by these LZ pages

am likely to go with the adv.fctr part ..
'cause they sell quality parts a.f.a.i.k ..
and have nothing but good service from them in the past

the only hint i got from another site .. similar price
( possibly same part number as the adv.fctr site )
was "made in poland"
i think some of the german brand parts are made there ..i.e. bosch etc
but maybe there's no connection

Got my pump from Germany. 5days order to delivery.

Why not ast AF to get you a Pierburg pump.

i saw some pierburg pumps from germany .. gave it some thought re postal time
as i'm pressured for time .. i'll source one closer ..
the 2year warranty one looks to suit .. in stock / postal time depending
gives me 'nuff time to save up for a "genuine pierburg " german based one

( noted that the pierburg ebay pumps are in germany
( don't mean they are made there ..
( am somewhat sure my pierburg maf sensor had 'made in poland' on the box

if no answer .. i'll order the site offering 'n deal with the consequences
( ideally i'd like to have one by tuesday )

just dropping this in here .. in case someone else does a 'search' for an OEM l.p. fuel pump
found one at 'advanced factors' ..
yes it's more ££ than 'aftermarket' types .. as expected

i gotta thank Nodge68 for posting that site .. few years back ..
i've bought a fair amount of parts from them .. i'd rate their service as very good
and if there's an issue .. like 'out of stock' or similar
they're very helpful over the phone .. or email ..

yeah .. the exploded diagrams are useful ..
more sites should have them

I got using them big time when I had my D3. I never have any complaints about the customer service, when there was a problem with an order. I remember one issue in which 2 fuel filters arrived, instead of an oil filter and fuel filter. I phoned them up and they sent out an oil filter for the next day, telling me to keep the fuel filter. Now the next day shipping cost them more than the replacement oil filter they sent, and they lost a fuel filter too boot, so yes customer service service is top notch.

states 'oem' on the box ..
unit manufactured in france
by 'TI automotive' of poland
has a 2 year warranty

the 'bearmach' site shows 2 oem pumps being suitable for the td4
( 1 pump for m47/td4 only .. the other fits m47/td4's and the range rover 3 'n 4 litre diesels )
price from 'bearmach' a tad less expensive than a.f.'s ( to be expected .. )

both sites offer a £50 aftermarket pump with no warranty
