This is a subject I know very little about so bear with me. I am currently looking at two 90's (only going to buy one) in Italy. Now the pictures looks great, but pictures can be deceiving, more are on the way. But I have always heard of people getting their prospects inspected. I am the US so I'm not flying to Italy to see a car. Are there people you can contact that will do inspections for you or am I just completely out of the ballpark here? Thank you!

Cheers,

Pretty certain theres a strong LR following in most countries, so what you need to do is find their local club and ask who/what they would use.

Ok sweet I’ll start searching for some agents/contacts

You've picked me up wrongly I live in Portugal I meant you won't find an agent to do what you want just be carefull...there are threads on here of buyers from us not getting what they thought they bought and not receiving title papers...

Oh i see, my bad I did read that wrong. Yes I do want to be careful as does everyone.

So if there aren't any people that would do that in italy, what other options do I have besides "trusting" what the seller says. I'm sorry for the dumb questions, newbie here if you couldn't tell already

Thank you

Have you researched the required documents to import a 90 into the USA...
Currently doing so, have not found the forms themselves. I know the basic rules for importing. The 25 year limit of course, no engine swaps, same VINs on engine and chassis. But i do not have the forms themselves

A couple of things spring to mind...in Italy the vehicle registration number stays with the owner so it would arrive non reg'd...If like here in Portugal the engine number doesn't apear on paperwork and paperwork can if you know the right person be alterd to fix technicalities great for here but no good for you...don't ask how I know lol...hope you get sorted ok...
