YRM footwell holes

Hi Folks,
Anyone know what the 4 horizontal holes are for in the lower part of the passenger footwell? Cheers Peter

Inner wing bolts

PS if you use them it's a good idea to use longer bolts with a spacer inbetween to leave a gap.
Crud collects there which is why they rust out.

And if you don't have an inner wing fitted because the aluminium bracket spot welded to the underside of the wing top has has rotted away (like they all do), bend a piece of aluminium sheet and rivet it onto the underside of the wing and then fit new inner wings! I have just done mine, but not before one of my heater brackets rusted away due to the complete lack of protection form road spray. Also follow @blue beasty advice, I just used an additional nut between the footwell and the panel as a spacer.

Cheers for that. I am nowhere near that position , I am just fitting a new footwell and wondered what all the holes were for. Any un-needed ones I was going to weld up.
My son took the Landy apart about 7 years ago now, etc. left it to me and my other son to rebuild. lots of new bits including chassis.
I am rebuilding the bulkhead. Pics will follow.

That’s the correct way to do it (if you can’t rig weld to replicate the original). You can also just use poprivets and then paint it

The holes are for the mudshield, coincidentally these were from YRM too and much thicker than standard and galvanised , for the spacers I used 4 doorstops from Boyes the type you screw to floor leaves a gap of about 40mm.

Bollocks. They are the holes for the external mud shields. So you need to order these too from YRM with the mounting brackets and screws. Britpart sell them but YRM are better. The fact you asked suggests your original ones have completely rotted away. I would recommend fitting them cos otherwise all the crud from the road will splatter all over the inner wings and all components. Tip-put rubber tap washers between the bulkhead and the mud shields to provide an air space to clean the crud out otherwise it’s a recipe for rot and rust. Mud shields aren’t expensive.

There is two of the lower holes for holding floor plate should actually be square so you can insert a plastic mounting for self tapper type screw,.

Should also be one in front slam panel for the grill. if series 3

My eldest son , whose project this was ordered a full kit of fasteners etc, Must have cost him a fortune.
All in parts numbered bags.
