P38 sagging headliner

Does anyone know a cheap fix for sagging headliner. I was thinking of making a small incision and trying a spray glue , like the one used on carpets etc . Would this work

No it won't.
There's a bloke down in Zummerzet what does a same-day swap out for a new re-covered one.
Or, take it out and recover it, there's a guide on here in the Rangie Tech Section.

The reason the headliner has dropped is because the backing foam has deteriorated and come away. If you try to glue it back up it will look horrendous. Needs a new headliner fitted.

I fixed mine up with plastic studs, gives a nice quilted effect One day when time permits I will follow Dopy's guide and re-trim it.

Dopey's How To is your best bet. Or for a little more just get the Martrim kit with everything you need. An easy afternoon's work if it is sunny out.

Tried it don't work follow wammers advice and Dopey's guide

I need to get mine sorted as soon as it's running

Anyone know why land rover do it differently to everyone else? Never seen any other car suffer

Mine is beginning to sag as well .
Who's the geezer in zummerzet ?
Is the geezer in shenly ( advert on the bay ) any good ?
Better still , any one on here doing this ?

No chance of doing this myself . I don't have the patience or carefulness to do the job properly .

Old Jags were prone to it, there are possibly others.

I’ve used all sorts of spray glues to stick it back up. Lasts few months then goes again, foam never seems to go just keeps making more every time I clean it out. It does look absolutely terrible too no matter how careful you are.

Only cheap option is to rip It out, rattle can the roof and pretend your in a Defended

True.

Rip it off, clean the foam off the backing & recover it with new material.
You need to use a high temperature adhesive as ordinary carpet type won't take the heat.

I can recommend Martrim as I used one of their kits on my RRC.

You need to be extra vigilant removing all the foam. If you go over it three times until you are happy, go over it a fourth to be sure.

really easy to do if you follow dopeys guide few hours work well worth doing right
