Just a quick question as my new starter for my 2.5N/A won’t fit to the front bracket as where the old one did fit to.
It should be the correct part (NAD500210).

Can this do harm? And do you guys fit a ground cable from the starter itself to the chassis as well?

Thanks!

Personally I wouldn't fret over the bracket.
You can't have too many earth's, I've got one direct to one of the starter mounting bolts as well as one from the block on my 200tdi.

When I had a 2.5 n/a in my 110, it didn't have the bracket that is shown in your picture, but the starter was dated 2006, so was clearly a modern replacement.
I imagine that it is only necessary for the older and presumably longer starters.
The 300tdi starters are interchangeable with 2.5 n/a starters and 300tdi's definitely do not have the extra bracket.
